MAGIC (Music and Games in a Chair) Leader Training

Free MAGIC Leader Training (provided by Kirklees Community Plus)
An interactive three-hour course designed to give you the skills and confidence to lead enjoyable, safe and inclusive Movement and Games in Chairs in a community setting.
It is for any adult (over 18) interested in becoming a MAGIC Leader/Volunteer (Music and Games in Chairs); or
Professionals planning to include Movement and Games/Chair based exercise as part of their service delivery.

Dalton Together Ward Partnership Meeting – 29th May 2025

Dalton Together welcomes partners, services, local community groups/volunteers, youth organisations, schools and faith organsiations to our upcoming partnership gathering.
This is an opportunity for us all to network, get to know each other and let everyone know about all the great things that are happening across the Dalton Ward. These meetings also give us the space to problem solve together so we can better respond to community needs.
Please note: This meeting is not an open public meeting and is face to face at St Paul’s Methodist Church, in the Church Hall (341 Wakefield Road, Huddersfield HD5 8DE (just before Tesco Express) on 29th May – 10am to 12noon.
Parking: There is some limited parking available at the back of the church. Refreshments will be available on arrival from 9.45am.
Together – Living Well with Dementia Support Group

The Living well with Dementia Support group has reopened at Moldgreen United Reformed Church, they are also seeking willing volunteers. Details below!

Could you make a difference in the life of people living with dementia?
Hours: Fridays 10 – 3
Venue: United Reformed Church Moldgreen
Roles
Are you interested in people, friendly and wanting to make a difference? A group support role may suit you.
Do you enjoy cooking then perhaps you could be a catering assistant. We provide a hot two course lunch for group members and volunteers.
No experience with dementia necessary as training will be offered.
All volunteers will have a DBS check.

We hold a coffee morning and lunch club for people aged 55 and over every Thursday in the community rooms at the rear of cottage homes in waterloo we start at 10.30 and finish around 2.30 we charge £1 for coffee and biscuit’s we also run a lunch club where we charge £4 for lunch with coffee we play games , bingo and have a quiz we currently have 21 members and would welcome any new ones.
